| Hospital - Energy Auditing |
Background
This
property is a 300,000 square foot full service hospital with 225 beds
and 800 employees located at the northern tip of Manhattan. This
community hospital was built in the 1980s and many of the primary
mechanical systems are original to the building. The facility recently

| Project Results
NCG
identified numerous energy conservation measures for the hospital. Of
the measures identified, the lighting, VFD, motor and summer boilers was
projected to save the hospital $130,000 a year in energy and reduce the
hospital’s annual energy intensity by 23.5 kBtu/SF. These savings were
expected to reduce the hospital’s usage enough to qualify for Energy
Star certification. In addition to these measures, NCG identified
several operating routines that could be incorporated into the BMS
upgrade that was expected to save an additional $42,000 a year in
energy.
